Black heart - E.P. "Anti Corruption" - Review
Black heart (Chandigarh)
E.P. Anti Corruption - (Reviewed by Aditya Deb )
Blackheart is a Groove metal/Power metal/Death-Core band from Chandigarh.
These guys are very young and they have immense talent in them. Their EP anti-corruption is out now, includes 3 tracks and is already making rounds of being very impressive.
The album has been recorded, mixed and mastered at "Powerhouse Studio", New Delhi.
The Band
Blackheart is a 5 piece band,

Aman Sharma (Vocals): He is probably the most important act in this band. Aman has worked a lot on his screeching vocals. He is well loud and clear, pertaining to the enjoyable screeches, he makes at every break down of his songs.
Abhishek Sinha -Shanky (Lead Guitars): Shanky is the lead guitarist of blackheart, and has been a distinct figure in Chandigarh because of his style and his technique. This guy has made some tremendous riffs, and some great solos. His work has been commendable in track three, "Do Not Panic".
Gaurav Singh (Rhythms): Gaurav is the Rhythm guitarist of blackheart. I haven't had a chance to listen to the work of Gaurav, although when I was going through their website, I heard their metal cover of "Summer of 69", and I have to say, Gaurav is the backbone of blackheart’s music.
Arshdeep Singh (Bass): Blackheart has gone through a couple of changes in their band. One of the biggest was the change of their bass guitarist. Arshdeep has been their permanent member for quite a while now, and he is doing a brilliant job there.
Rahul Sharma (Drums): After listening to their stuff again and again, I really have to acknowledge this guy. Thinking of the fact that Rahul is so young, people should envy him and his work. This guy is very talented and something to look forward in the future.

Here is a song by song review of Anti-Corruption
Track 1- A Silent Vive
A silent vive is by far blackheart’s best creation. This track has it all, chilling vocals, amazing break downs, and also nice lyrics. The chorus part of this track is really good. It has that atmospheric moment when Shanky plays those slow notes. The Breakdown of the track is after the second chorus. And when compared to all the other stuff they’ve made, this is probably their most impressive part. First of all, you will love the part when he sings the lines "so many homes, so many lives, a silent vive of a guilt should rise". This is a part where you feel an encore is building up. This track (in all) is shear brilliance, and has to be one of the best I have heard in Indian metal. The only problem is the title. The use of word "vive" (a French word meaning long live) in their chorus makes me more confused.
Track 2- Death By Poison
Death by poison is a power metal/groove metal creation by blackheart. The track starts with a speedy riff, and then you hear Aman singing "My Love, my poison". This just makes you say that it’s kind of a love song, but it’s much more than that. This track has it all, a broken heart, a betrayal, an addiction and also the revenge. Revenge because Aman swears a lot in this track. But anyhow, this track is not perfect, but yes it has some great riffs, and drumming. Rahul and Shanky seem to have jammed a lot on this song, because they are pretty good here.
Track 3- Do Not Panic
Do not panic is again a very brilliant track by blackheart. This song is a thrash metal number, and is very catchy. Aman has given great vocals on this track. His style of singing "Do not panic" is rattling, but the show stopper is Shanky here. Out of all the three tracks, Shanky chose to give his best work on this track, making it just brilliant all the way. He starts playing a solo from the halfway of the track, and yes the solo is just great. And it really gets better with each note he plays. Just as the song ends, you really feel the urgency to listen to the solo again, it’s that good.
Blackheart, with its debut album, has created a milestone in Indian metal. Being so young does not exclude them from being in the big leagues (in the future) with bands such as Acrid semblance and Undying Inc. and other brilliant metal acts in the country, I wish them best of luck for their future endeavors, and suggest everyone to keep an eye on them.
Blackheart gets 6.5 out 0f 10.
